Tickets on Sale for 2026 VGH+ Hometown Heroes Lottery

VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation and the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund (“Burn Fund”) today announced that tickets for the 2026 VGH+ Hometown Heroes Lottery are now on sale until midnight, July 10, 2026, or until tickets sell out. Ticket sales from the VGH+ Hometown Heroes Lottery support VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, the leading charity investing in health care innovation in BC. The Foundation raises essential funds for VGH, UBC Hospital, Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute, G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre, and Vancouver Community Health Services. They also support Burn Fund programs, such as the Home Away program, which offers accommodations to burn and trauma survivors at the Burn Fund Centre in Vancouver, mental health support for burn survivors, as well as the annual Burn Camp for young burn survivors.

“The VGH+ Hometown Heroes Lottery continues to be a powerful way for everyone in BC to support the health care innovation that patients rely on every day,” said Angela Chapman, President and CEO of VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation. “Every ticket purchased helps fund critical medical equipment that leads to more accurate diagnoses, efficient surgeries, and improves access to care. With your help, we can save and improve lives across BC. This is the power of plus. This is how you win with BC’s bravest.”

Last year, the VGH+ Hometown Heroes Lottery raised $5.4 million for health care in BC, funding:

  • $203,000 in surgical instruments
  • $380,000 in sterilizers to protect patients from infections
  • Upgraded endoscopes for more accurate cancer detection
  • New Retinal Surgery Platforms that deliver safer surgeries
  • Urology Cystoscopes that improve access to care!

Plus more.

“The Hometown Heroes Lottery is a vital source of funding for the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund, helping us deliver essential survivor services and fire safety education across the province. These funds allow us to provide life-changing physical and emotional support,” said Jeff Sauvé, Executive Director of the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund. “This work is only possible because of the generosity of people across British Columbia. Every ticket purchased helps give survivors the best chance at healing, and we’re truly grateful for that.”
