Hometown Heroes Lottery tickets now on sale

VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation and the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund (“Burn Fund”) today announced that tickets for the 2023 Hometown Heroes Lottery are now on sale until midnight, July 13, 2023, or until tickets sell out. Ticket sales from the Hometown Heroes Lottery support VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, raising essential funds for specialized adult health services at VGH and UBC Hospital, GF Strong Rehab Centre, and Vancouver Community Health Services. They also support Burn Fund programs, such as the Home Away program, which offers accommodations to burn and trauma survivors at the Burn Fund Centre in Vancouver, mental health support for burn survivors and fire fighters, as well as the annual Burn Camp for young burn survivors.

“We are thrilled to announce that this year’s Hometown Heroes Lottery has begun. The funds from the Hometown Heroes Lottery help to ensure that medical teams at VGH, UBC Hospital and many other health care centres under our umbrella have the cutting-edge tools and equipment they need to save lives,” said Angela Chapman, President and CEO, VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation. “In addition, each ticket purchase contributes to advancing medical research, giving patients in BC access to new therapies and clinical trials. VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation is very grateful to receive the proceeds from the Hometown Heroes Lottery. On behalf of the Foundation, thank you to everyone who supports the Lottery and the Foundation. Together, we transform health care for all British Columbians.”

Thank you to everyone who buys a ticket for the Hometown Heroes Lottery. You are a burn survivor’s best chance for a full recovery.”
